How ‘The Mandalorian’ addresses Cara Dune’s passing


There are many questions in season 3 of The Mandalorian. Will we see more of Luke Skywalker next Grogu left him in the Boba Fett book? Din Djarin could find his way back into the Mandalorian community then He takes off his helmet in the second season finale? And of course, what would Disney and creator Jon Favreau do about Cara Dune?

We found out the answer to this last question In the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3that hit Disney Plus on Wednesday. Cara Dune, the renegade mercenary played by Gina Carano in the first two seasons of the show, is still alive, but she won’t be an active participant in Mando’s story.

When Din Djarin arrives in Navarro in the season premiere, he is met by High Magistrate Greef Karga, aka Carl Weathers. Carga quickly makes clear that Navarro needs a new marshal. Confused, Mando asks what happened to Marshall Dion. “After they brought Moff Gideon in, the Special Forces recruited her.”

The big bad guy in Season 2 was Gideon, who was defeated by Mando with Dion’s help in that season’s finale. In other words, Cara Dune is still a badass in the Star Wars universe, but we won’t get to see any of her exploits.

Dune was dropped by Lucasfilm this past February after she performed in a Quickly delete Instagram StoryBeing a Republican is like being a Jew in the years leading up to the Holocaust. In 2022, she starred in the Western flick Terror on the Prairie, which was only released to Daily Wire subscribers. Speaking to Shapiro in an interview last year, she said she was bullied by Disney and Lucasfilm.

“I’ve been through a lot, I’ve seen a lot now, and obviously, about the bullying that was going on, I’ve seen it before,” Carano said. Ben Shapiro Show last february. “I am not the only one who has been bullied by this company, I know it deeply.”

Regarding the Instragram post that led to her quitting, Carano said she was “inspired by the gentle spirit of the Jewish people going through at the time,” adding, “When I posted it wasn’t something I felt was controversial. It was something I thought, well, maybe We all need to ask ourselves how this happened.”
