When I pressed play the first-ever episode of Next in Fashion, I had a sharp question on my mind: How is this fashion show different from its iconic predecessor, Project Runway? Before any of the brainstorming and tailoring on the Netflix series begins, a Q&A led by hosts Alexa Chung and Tan France (Gigi Hadid takes over for Chung in Season 2) reveal that many designers have dressed celebrities before. France then asks the designers among them a household name. the answer? Not even one. So we get the impression that this is a group of seasoned and seasoned designers who are out there to earn a little more recognition.
When I watch Project Runway, I don’t feel like these designers really “made” it. With Next in Fashion, I expect highly skilled designers and some personalities that fit the theme of the show. Chung and France keep the mood light and fun, and the outfits they’ve produced are amazing enough.

Players periodically “rate” each other, and the higher-ranked pair chooses who to throw out of the competition. It’s a creative concept, and the show throws in a lot of twists to liven things up. Do you think it would be easy to spot those who are completely impersonating online? I would be surprised.

Boredom often sends me to the grocery store to snag cake mix and a package of frosting. The result of my elbow grease being a lifeless loser pile, but that doesn’t dampen the experience. Talented glassmakers take on challenges and follow a theme, whether that’s creating a home-made piece, an original cartoon character, or a piece about climate change. The least successful cast members are eliminated until a winner emerges. It’s a familiar realistic competition formula, but the elaborate art brought from concept to creation is worth sticking with. Those who only recognize glass sculptures as finished products in an exhibition will be interested in the opportunity to look behind the scenes. Prepare to be intrigued, and maybe even inspired to get up and do something with your own hands.

I have He said it before, and I’m glad to do it again: Dating Around is a must-watch for reality show fans. This entry to the Netflix catalog has a no-frills premise, which is saying something considering its wild company on the streaming platform (Too Hot to Handle, Erotic monstersAnd love is blind). Make no mistake, there’s still a lot to get invested in what’s happening on screen. Singles in New York and New Orleans share a night of drinks, dinner, and conversation, resulting in unbearably awkward encounters and dazzling chemistry. The mini show’s sense of humor allows his special team members to shine. Everything looks great by capturing the atmosphere of the late night city locations. If I have to keep praising this show, I will. I’m desperate to get my hands on season 3.
