iOS 16.4.1 (a): What to know about Apple’s Rapid Security Response


Apple has released its first security QR update on the iPhone, called iOS 16.4.1 (a)On May 1st, the company said that the update is recommended for all users and that it applies important security fixes to Android devices iPhoneHowever, Apple has not released security notes associated with the update.

To download the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update, tap Install now and follow the onscreen instructions.

Some users saw an error message when installing iOS 16.4.1(a) on their device. “Unable to verify security response,” the message said, and said they were no longer online. If you see this error message, you can immediately retry downloading the update or try again later.

The iOS 16.4.1(a) update doesn’t bring new features to your iPhone, but it does fix some security issues.

Apple did not immediately respond to CNET’s request for comment.
