If you prefer Google Docs to Microsoft Word, you’ll find that it can also be used to save different versions of your document automatically. Like the View Version History option in MS Word, Google Docs allows you to view and save a history of modifications made to a document. To do this, you will need:
Open the document in Google Docs. Select the Version History option under File. Click See version history.
With this, all modifications made to the document can be viewed along with when they were made, enabling comparison with previous versions. The editor’s name also appears next to the selected edit if the document contains multiple editors. on some occasions, Google docs You may deem it necessary to consolidate versions to open up storage space, so it would be wise to save a copy of the versions you think you might need (you can do this using the More options button on each version in the version history). Otherwise, you may need copies of previous versions, only to find that they are automatically merged into something much less useful.
