NBCUniversal launches new free streaming channels on Amazon Freevee

Do you like Saturday Night Live, Keeping Up with the Kardashians or Top Chef? Content from previous seasons will soon be available to watch on the new ad-supported free-to-air TV channels – or NBCUniversal’s FAST Channels.

Amazon Verify And Xumo Play will begin offering NBCUniversal’s new FAST channels this summer. Entertainment, news, sports, and Spanish channels join existing NBCUniversal offerings, including Dateline 24/7, NBC News NOW, and local news stations NBC and Telemundo.

“NBCUniversal is in the enviable position of having a wide range of premium shows that are not part of our broadcast and cable networks to curate a valuable set of FAST channels,” said Matt Schnarz, NBCUniversal’s President of Content Distribution, in a statement.

As the full name suggests, FAST Channels allows you to watch content for free with ads. NBCUniversal’s new channels range from SNL Vault (a collection of SNL clips) to Lo Mejor de Telemundo (the latest hits and fan favorites from Telemundo) to Universal Westerns (series featuring cowboys, gunslingers, and outlaws).

The experience of watching the FAST channel is different than what you might encounter when trying to watch something on a traditional on-demand streaming service like Netflix or Amazon.com the above. For example, on the FAST channel, you may not be able to start a new show from the beginning or pause it.

There are plenty of destinations to choose from when you’re in the mood to catch up on some content, from Freevee, who made our site Best free streaming service listfor live and on-demand streaming we think is worth paying for, like Starz and Hulu Plus Live TV.
