Koenigsegg Gemera gets a V8-hybrid option with 2300 horsepower

The Gemera HV8 is the most powerful and extreme production car on the planet, ready to break many records, says Christian von Koenigsegg, founder and CEO of the company. So far, the Gemera already seems to be the most powerful sports car out there, at least on paper. The company plans to push Gemera into production next year at its newly opened Griper Atelier facility, while shipments are expected to begin in 2025.

Not surprisingly, upgrading to the V8 model wouldn’t come cheap. According to the record eggsKoenigsegg will charge $400,000 for the cut. However, if you’re not necessarily looking to run errands and pick up groceries in a V8 “big car,” Koenigsegg has a modest three-cylinder configuration on the counter that can still muster 1,400 horsepower.

With a planned production target of 300 units (which is actually generous given the… Brand history), Koenigsegg’s first four-seat racer will experience all-wheel drive and a nine-speed gearbox in either configuration. Koenigsegg will also offer a Ghost package for the Gemera for fans who want a sportier look. There is no word on the asking price for the car, but rumor has it that it will start at $1.7 million.
