Amazon Prime Day Deals Too broad: Whether it’s cheap phones, appliances, movies, or clothes, there’s a good chance that some of the items you bought recently now cost less money. This is what I noticed when two pairs Levi’s jeans Which I bought earlier this month happened to get a huge discount on Tuesday, and now it’s selling for $20 less than when I bought it. When I’m shopping at other stores, a quick visit to customer service will usually prevent me from making a later discount purchase as long as I’m within a return window. But Amazon doesn’t make it that easy.
I’m now too slow to try on the clothes I buy, and I get a lot of use out of Amazon clothes Prime try before you buy In order to extend the return period in case you need to make an exchange. Buying clothes online often means that an item may not go so well once you can actually wear it. And between procrastinating on trying on clothes and suspecting they might get a Prime Day discount, I left them unopened until this week just in case.
So on Tuesday, when I saw that each item was now $20 off, I wanted to get a price adjustment. Unfortunately, Amazon does not offer such a policy. This is in contrast to online stores and retailers that offer this option, for example best buy And Goal Both will adjust the price and refund the cost difference as long as you request it within the return period. But in this case, the only way to get a Prime Day discount on those jeans is to return the items and order them again.
Amazon does not allow you to request a price adjustment after purchase.

While I appreciate Amazon’s liberal return policy, this feels like a waste on multiple levels. In addition to the hassle and waste of extra packaging, Returned items often end up creating trash In the event that the retailer determines that the item cannot be sold again.
I’ve reached out to Amazon about their no price adjustment policy to see if there are any options available to buyers in a similar situation. The best solution to avoid all the hassle and waste of shipping is for Amazon to consider a price adjustment policy that reverts back to the customer’s original payment method. However, if Amazon doesn’t want such a policy, perhaps another option would be the ability for a Prime Day theme to get the difference in store credit — which could potentially pique the customer’s interest toward purchasing another item. Amazon does this sort of thing with Partnership with Kohl’s: When you return your Amazon order at Kohl’s, you get a $5 coupon off anything at the brick-and-mortar store.
By now, in all cases, I have already prepared my return of clothes. Maybe instead, you’ll go buy a new pair of jeans at a store in hopes of cutting back on waste a bit.
