It’s an undisputed super middleweight bout none of the respected boxing fans will want to miss as Canelo Alvarez returns home to Mexico to defend his four world titles on Saturday against British fighter John Ryder.
Canelo’s first time fighting on home turf in 11 years, Saturday’s bout in Guadalajara will be the 32-year-old’s first appearance in the ring since his points victory over Gennady Golovkin in their final triple-fight last September.
Canelo was forced to have hand surgery late last year, but he claims he has recovered well as he put his WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles on the line against Southpaw Ryder.
Tonight’s main event marks the first time the 34-year-old contender has fought for a world title since losing to Callum Smith in controversial fashion in 2019.

The Alvarez vs. Ryder match will take place tonight, May 6, at Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The main card begins around 7 PM ET (4 PM PT), and Alvarez and Ryder’s ring walks are scheduled no later than 11 PM ET (8 PM PT).
