WhatsApp provided a file Chat lock feature “It allows you to protect your most intimate conversations behind another layer of security,” parent company Meta said in a blog post Monday.
“The new locked chats in WhatsApp make your conversations even more private,” says Meta Mark CEO Zuckerberg published on his Instagram channel. They are hidden in a password-protected folder and notifications will not display the content of the sender or message.
So what will it include? If you select Chat Lock on a specific chat, it will disappear from your public inbox and will instead be in another folder that can only be accessed using your phone password or your fingerprint. Any notifications hitting your phone for this locked chat will also hide the sender and message.
