You can Use the OpenAI chatbot in many creative ways, from the simple task of writing a congratulatory email to the more complex generation of Python code to controlling and retrieving data from a mobile bot. Turn on plugins to enable the plugin store. Go back to the home page and select New chat. Choose GPT-4 from the options at the top. Select Plugins. Click “Plug-ins are not enabled”. Open the plugin store. Click OK on the About Plug-ins popup. Find the plugin you want to use. Type the name of the plugin in the search box or manually scroll through the Popular, New, and All tabs. Before you can use a plugin, you need to enable it first. Here’s how to do it:

After downloading the plug-in of your choice, click the plug-in icon at the top of the new chat page to open the plug-in menu. Select the check box next to the plug-in you want to use in your chat. You can only enable three at a time. Once done, the plugin is now ready to use.

ChatGPT plugins offer different functionality, so they are used differently as well. Some of the plugins are fairly intuitive and don’t need tutorials. Take Coursera, for example. For this particular plugin, you simply need to send a prompt like “Give me beginner-friendly course recommendations for Canva”, and ChatGPT will automatically use the Coursera plugin to provide you with a list of course suggestions.

However, other plug-ins require additional inputs other than the router itself. For example, the ChatWithPDF plugin needs a link to a publicly accessible PDF and the SEO plugin needs a URL and keyword to work. Once you have these additional inputs, you can add them to your prompt. For ChatWithPDF, your prompt could be something along the lines of “Give me a bulleted list of the key insights for this report: [link to your PDF]. “

If you are not sure how to use a particular ChatGPT plugin, go to whatplugin.ai And find the plugin of your choice. Whatplugin.ai explains what each plugin does and how to use it.
